The Edinburgh Lothian & Borders Police Historical Society was created by six retirees from the local policing family of the composite forces.
The Society exists to identify, locate, record, interpret and preserve artefacts, photographs and documentation, relating to the history of policing in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Peebles and Scottish Borders area.
The desire is simple: to ensure and enable the heritage of policing in the south east corner of Scotland and the Scottish Borders is remembered, preserved and maintained from time immemorial.
Learn more about Edinburgh, Lothian & Borders Police Historical Society with our planned displays in local museums and public places of interest.
With the tremendous availability of exciting locations across our area, we plan to visit lots of public venues to display and explain about policing in the area to all ages and about life as a police officer in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Scottish Borders.
We will talk about some of the challenges faced over time: the investigations; the way of life and the many memorable events this area was proud to host and police.
Join us on the historic journey and ask questions of our team and volunteers to keep alive and celebrate in the memories of our colleagues from yesteryear and their fabulous tales.
